As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) for the 11th tenure.

All delegates to the 11th National Congress of the CPV unanimously agreed on the numbers of official and alternate members at a plenary session on personnel plans in the morning of January 15.

On behalf of the Congress Presidium, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh chaired the plenary session.

Ho Duc Viet, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Organisation, presented the 10th Party Central Committee’s report on personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee.

General Secretary Manh stated his opinions, highlighting a number of notes regarding the personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee.

The delegates then worked in groups to discuss the criteria and structure, and study documents on the personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee. In the afternoon of January 15, the delegates continued group discussions.

As scheduled, the delegates will continue to work in groups on January 16 on the personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee./.
