The bomb measured 1.5 metres long and had a diameter of about 80 centimetres .
Experts said it was dropped by the US Army in 1968 to prevent the uprising of local people and soldiers during the campaign to liberate Huong Hoa district.
Over the past years, much unexploded ordnance has been discovered by the provincial mobile mine clearance team in local farmland.-VNA
