The ASEAN-Korea Centre (CAK) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to enhance economic cooperation between ASEAN and the RoK and Busan city in particular.

Under the MoU, CAK and BCCI will seek cooperative measures to expand trade ties, promote investment and increase economic exchange between Busan and ASEAN member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat said on May 24.

According to CAK General Secretary Chung Hae-Moon, ASEAN has become the RoK’s second most important partner in trade, investment and construction.

He said CAK will continue expanding cooperation with other chambers of commerce and industry in RoK localities, as well as regional economic organisations, to support SME.

Within the framework of the MoU, CAK and BCCI will organise seminars on investment and exchange commercial delegations to maximise business opportunities.

Established in 2009, CAK has operated as an official channel for exchanges, cooperation and information sharing between ASEAN member countries and the RoK.-VNA
