ASEAN-China friendship conference wraps up

The 7th Conference on ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organisations (CACPPFO) concluded in Hanoi on August 17.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and head of the Vietnamese delegation Vu Xuan Hong said that the two-day conference, themed "Solidarity, Friendship, Cooperation and Development", was a success that helped foster the friendship and mutual trust between ASEAN and Chinese people.

Gu Xiulian, president of the China-ASEAN Association, and head of the Chinese delegation to the conference, agreed that the annual conference, which is a playground of friendship exchange, equal dialogue and cooperation, has become an important part in implementing the China-ASEAN comprehensive cooperation.

The heads of the delegations signed a cooperation programme between the ASEAN and Chinese friendship organisations for the 2012-2013 period.

The Vietnamese delegation head passed the conference’s flag to a representative of the Philippines-China Friendship Association, which will host the next meeting in the Philippines.-VNA
