Asian countries cooperate on market control

The Market Management Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on Nov. 11 hosted the first meeting on cooperation in market control in Cambodia , Laos , Myanmar and Vietnam.

Representatives from the four countries affirmed that cooperation between the regional countries is very important, contributing to encouraging healthy markets, while market controls continued to exhibit several limitations.

At the meeting, MoIT’s Deputy Minister Nguyen Cam Tu said the cooperation in market inspection and control between Laos , Cambodia , Myanmar and Vietnam aims to promote economic and trade cooperation between these countries.

The meeting also actively contributed to implementing the action plan of economic and trade cooperation in the four countries, creating a basis for following cooperative activities.

In the framework of the meeting, the Market Management Department signed two bilateral memoranda of understanding with the market control agencies of Laos and Cambodia , to boost cooperation and experience exchange in this field.

According to Nguyen Hung Dung, Head of the Market Management Department, annual meetings will be held by rotation in the four countries with the aim of assessing operational results and adjusting cooperative contents./.
