Boeing provides scholarships to Vietnamese students

The aerospace company Boeing will provide 10 scholarships, worth 1,000 USD each, to students enrolled in the information technology training course in 2010 at Duy Tan University in central Da Nang city, said an official from the University.

Eligible scholarship beneficiaries are 10 students who have the highest result from the 2010 enrolment competition and register to study software engineering or information system courses under a programme in line with standards of the US Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), said Nguyen Thanh Duong, Director of Duy Tan University’s Communications and Marketing Centre.

Duy Tan University will also grant 40 scholarships, worth from 150 to 550 USD each, to other students who follow the courses, he added.

The training course is a cooperation programme between the CMU, the Software Engineering Group of Vietnam (SEG Vietnam). Students who take part in the course will be provided with training programme and curricula on software engineering and information system under a programme copyrighted by the CMU. They will be granted 18 certificates for fulfilling their subject by the CMU after finishing the course.

In the 2010 enrolment season, Duy Tan University will also provide 60 scholarships, worth 2 million VND each, to students on accountancy, finance and business administration in line with the US Pennsylvania’s programme and 590 scholarships, worth from 1 million to 5 million VND each, to other students./.
