Brunei police on Jan. 20 arrested a fishing vessel from central Binh Dinh province with nine fishermen on board due to fishing in its waters, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei.

Immediately after the incident, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry asked the embassy and relevant agencies to define the circumstances and take necessary measures to protect the crew.

The embassy said that the fishermen are in good health and are at Bandar police station.

The Foreign Ministry has sent a diplomatic note to the Brunei Embassy in Hanoi to ask Brunei to solve the case and promptly free the nine Vietnamese fishermen and their ship./.
