Deputy PM receives senior Cambodian diplomat

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception on June 24 for Cambodia ’s Secretary of State at the Council of Ministers, Sim Vanna, who is on a visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, Phuc expressed his delight at the development of the traditional friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia in recent times.

He said that both countries have reached many agreements on how to develop the relationship and cooperation between the two countries even further.

Phuc said he believes that the Vietnamese-Cambodian relationship will flourish and will ensure prosperity in both countries as well as peace and stability in the region and the world.

Sim Vanna stated that the Cambodian people will always be grateful for the considerable assistance and support the Vietnamese Party, State and people provided during the liberation of Cambodia in 1979.

He also praised the investments Vietnam has made in Cambodia , especially in banking, telecommunications, aviation, agriculture, health care and infrastructure development.

The official added that he hopes the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia will grow in the future and bring sustainable development and prosperity to both countries, to build a strong and united ASEAN Community.-VNA
