A school built with funding from Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap was inaugurated on August 17 in Peam Ro district, Prey Veng province of Cambodia.

Construction of the Khmer-Vietnam Friendship primary school started in February at a cost of 145,000 USD.

Addressing the school’s inaugurating ceremony, Le Minh Hoan, Chairman of Dong Thap provincial People’s Committee, said that the school is a symbol of the friendship between the two neighbouring provinces as well as the two nations.

Chau Van Chi, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia said in the long term, the facility will be expanded to provide secondary education to meet the demand of the local community in Prey Veng province.-VNA
