Enertec Expo 2012 gets underway in HCM City

The international exhibition on power saving products and green energies, Enertec Expo 2012, got underway on August 15 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

Jointly held by the city’s Department of Industry and Trade and the HCMC Power Corporation, the exhibition which will last until August 18 features nearly 100 enterprises showcasing their power saving, environmentally friendly and renewable energy products at 120 stands.

Deputy Director of HCMC’s Department of Industry and Trade Le Van Khoa said that the exhibition is one of the activities included in the national strategy for efficient energy use.

It is also an opportunity for domestic enterprises to promote their high-tech products to consumers, expands their market and help overseas firms seek out new partners, distributors and importers.

During the exhibition, which is primarily to promote the development of new energies, renewable energies and energy saving products, several workshops on the country’s power strategy for 2011 to 2020 will be held, mainly focusing on power saving products and ways of saving energy.

To compliment the exhibition and improve the publics awareness of the importance of saving energy, a contest to create a work of art with the theme ‘smart city – saving energy for a civilized and modern city' will also take place.-VNA
