A delegation of Filipino businesses that operate in processed food, confectionary, dried fruit, mining and cosmetics are visiting HCM City from July 4-5 to boost trade relations with Vietnamese partners.

At a trade exchange between both business communities on July 4, Bui Thi Thanh An, Deputy Head of the Trade Promotions Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the event is to help companies from both countries seek out new partners and business opportunities.

Through this programme, trade cooperation between both countries will flourish in various ways, she added.

Vietnamese representatives at the exchange provided an update on the country’s food safety law for the Filipino businesses, especially those which want to invest and expand their business operations in Vietnam .

To mark the occasion, the Exports Promotion Agency at the Filipino Ministry of Industry and Trade invited several Vietnamese businesses to take part in the 2013 International Food Exhibition (IFEX) in the Philippines next May.-VNA
