Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 4 began a three-day visit to Laos to boost the cooperation between the two countries’ government offices.

During the visit, Minister-Chairman Phuc met with Lao Prime Minister Bouason Bouphavanh and Vice State President Bounnhang Volachit, who lauded the visit as a good chance for the two countries’ government offices to share experiences and effectively implement tasks set by the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two States.

According to PM Bouason Bouphavanh, in the new situation, the two government offices should further promote their roles, thus helping raise the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to a new level of development.

Vice State President Bounnhang Volachit expressed his hope that the two government offices will provide support for the two countries’ businesses.

For his part, Minister-Chairman Phuc promised that he will try his best to strengthen the relationship between the two government offices, thereby fostering the Vietnam-Laos special friendship and solidarity.

Earlier, the Vietnamese guests held talks with a delegation from the Lao Government Office during which the two sides agreed to increase the exchange of visits and experiences in their work.

Vietnam will organise short-term training courses for the Lao Government Office’s staff as well as help Laos build a government portal.

After the talks, the two sides signed a cooperative agreement and attended a ceremony to hand over 60 sets of computers as gifts from Vietnam ’s Government Office to its Lao counterpart.

On March 5, Minister-Chairman Phuc will pay a courtesy visit to Lao Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad and visit the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and the memorial site of President Souphanouvong./.
