The Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Henri, paid a working visit to the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on November 8.
At a reception for the Grand Duke, Chairman of the provincial
People’s Committee Nguyen Van Cao said Thua Thien-Hue province has
effectively used Luxembourg ’s aid, citing projects on rural
development in Quang Dien district and human resource training for the
Hue Tourism College as examples.
Luxembourg-funded projects have greatly contributed to the province’s
rural transport infrastructure and tourism development, he noted.
Cao expressed his belief that Luxembourg will continue maintaining
and providing more aid for Vietnam in general and Thua Thien-Hue
province in particular.
Thua Thien-Hue will create
favourable conditions for Luxembourg businesses to invest in the
locality, especially in tourism, science and technology, and health, he
affirmed.
The Grand Duke spoke highly of
cooperation between Thua Thien-Hue province and Luxembourg
organisations in implementing projects.
Earlier
on the same day, in Hanoi , the Luxembourg delegation paid tribute to
President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, laid a wreath at the Monument
to Heroes and Martyrs as well as visited Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (the
Temple of Literature ).
On Nov. 9, the
delegation is scheduled to visit the Tomb of King Tu Duc, the Hue
Tourism College and the St Paul de Chartres Orphanage./.
