The 13th ASEAN University Network Education Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest began in Ho Chi Minh City on June 26.

This year’s forum, themed “Global Citizenship and Intercultural Competence” attracted more than 60 delegates and students from nine ASEAN countries as well as Japan , the Republic of Korea and China .

The event, which lasts until June 30, includes a number of talks on various educational topics and a contest to choose the competitor who delivers the best presentation on culture. The participants will also discuss and share their opinions on issues that relate to globalisation and cultural integration in Southeast and East Asia .

Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City ’s National University said, that the forum will give students the opportunity to meet and learn from international friends around the region and tighten links between the region’s countries.

The event is jointly held by Ho Chi Minh City ’s National University and the ASEAN University Network.-VNA
