Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Hatta Rajasa, said the country could become one of the world’s ten largest economies in 2025 if it can maintain the current pace of progress.

Now at the 15 th place, Indonesia is a member of the G-20, which groups the world’s 19 biggest economies in terms of GDP and the European Union.

If the country is able to keep its economic growth rate at over 6 percent in the years to come, per capita income would increase from an estimated 3,500 USD this year to more than 5,000 USD in 2014 and 16,000 USD in 2025.

The minister said Indonesia will continue to implement human-centred economic development plans, to strengthen its position in the G-20 group as well as on the international arena.-VNA
