National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has asked Israeli President Shimon Peres to support cooperative activities between the two countries’ parliaments.

Activities include exchange of high-ranking and committee-level delegations and parliamentary friendship groups, coordination and mutual support at multilateral parliamentary forums and cooperation in reviewing agreements between the two countries, Chairman Hung told Israeli President Peres in Hanoi on Nov. 24.

He briefed the President on Vietnam ’s outstanding socio-economic development achievements and asked the two sides to accelerate negotiations and fully tap the cooperative potential of each country, contributing to enhancing relations.

Chairman Hung also urged the two sides to boost cooperation in various areas, especially agricultural product processing.

President Peres affirmed that with its strength, Israel is able to support and cooperate with Vietnam in trade, processing and production of goods.

Israel wants to join hands with Vietnam to build a bright future and share a common vision in the new era, he said.

The Israeli President expressed his pleasure with development of ties between the two national assemblies and said he hoped the two countries will see more bilateral visits by parliamentarians and leaders of the two national assemblies, marking a new chapter in the two sides’ cooperative ties./.
