Two seminars on business opportunities in Vietnam have been held in Italy to accelerate Vietnam’s economic activities and promote its image.

At the seminar entitled “Fair Business in Vietnam” in Carrara city in the Tuscany region on Nov. 28, Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Khanh Thoai and trade counsellor Tran Thanh Hai briefed participants on the attractive and favourable conditions for investment in Vietnam.

The seminar focused on investment cooperation opportunities and technology transfer by tile production and mining businesses of Carrara which are well-known for marble products and stone processing and exploitation.

Chairman of the Carrara International Marble and Machines Group (IMM – SpA) Giorgio Bianchini said that IMM will explore investment opportunities in Vietnam as the country is an attractive destination with political stability, a high growth rate and an abundant workforce with potential for development.

Meanwhile, a workshop entitled “Business Strategies and Opportunities for Italian Businesses in Vietnam”, held in Milan city in the Lombardy region on Nov. 29, attracted the participation of a large number of local officials and businesses of the region.

Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Khanh Thoai said that Italian businesses enjoy many opportunities to invest in Vietnam in various fields, including infrastructure construction, mechanical engineering, mining, industrial, farm processing, chemicals, construction materials, tourism and technological transfer in environmental protection, waste water and solid waste treatment.

Earlier, also on Nov. 29, Ambassador Thoai and his staff held a working session with Chairman of the Milan Provincial Council Bruno Dapei to discuss a number of measures to further promote cooperation between Milan and Vietnam’s provinces in politics, economics, trade, culture, education and training./.
