More than 200 Lao and Cambodian students studying in the northern province of Thai Nguyen attended a meeting to mark the 36th anniversary of Laos’s National Day (Dec. 2).

At the event, delegates reviewed Laos’s historical traditions and the development of the two countries’ relationship.

Since 2008, Thai Nguyen has welcomed hundreds of Lao students and more than 200 Lao students are studying in the locality in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Addressing the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Somphon Sichalon thanked the Thai Nguyen chapter of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association for organising the event, which helped boost friendly relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations./.
