Lao leaders greet National Assembly delegation

Lao President Chummaly Sayasone and Prime Minister Thongsinh Thammavong received a Vietnamese National Assembly delegation headed by NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong on Dec. 1.

NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong thanked the Lao Party for their warm welcome and passed on the congratulations of the Vietnamese Party and State to Laos on its 36 th National Day. Phong also congratulated Laos on its great achievements in the process of national construction and development.

She updated her hosts on the highlights of Vietnam ’s socio-economy and activities towards Vietnam-Lao Relations Year 2012, expressing delight in the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation.

The NA Vice Chairwoman also took this occasion to thank the Lao Party, Government and people for their support, affirming that Vietnam will do its utmost to foster the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos .

The Lao leaders spoke highly of the delegation’s visit, saying that the two National Assemblies need to exchange experience and coordinate to promote economic cooperation, contributing to the Vietnam-Lao relationship./.
