Mexican businesses flocked to a seminar recently in Sinaloa state to
study the Vietnamese market, especially in agriculture, forestry,
fisheries and technology transfer.
The event,
jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico , Sinaloa state’s
authorities and the Mexican Business Council on Foreign Trade,
Investment and Technology, drew 138 major enterprises operating in
sectors such as finance, banking, agroforestry, fisheries, maritime
equipment and minerals.
Both Vietnam and Mexico
need to seek new markets and partners for economic development in
each country, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung.
The ambassador also underlined the need for the two sides to boost
their cooperation in education and training and culture.
On the occasion, Tung and Vietnamese Trade Counsellor Hoang Anh Dung
answered concerns raised by Sinaloa’s businesses regarding investment
conditions and environment in Vietnam .
The
ambassador also met with Sinaloa’s governor Mario Lopez Valdez and
leaders, during which the host side said they desired to strengthen
cooperation with Vietnam .
Although Sinaloa
accounts for only three percent of Mexico’s area and two percent of the
country’s population, the state produces 30 percent of Mexico’s food and
foodstuff output and is seen as a locality offering favourable business
conditions and a high competitiveness index./.
