A delegation of Myanmar’s Upper House, led by its Speaker Khin Aung Myint, paid a working visit to the northern province of Quang Ninh on June 23 within the framework of the delegation’s official visit to Vietnam.

At his reception for the delegation, Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Pham Minh Chinh briefed his guests on Quang Ninh’s potentials, opportunities, difficulties and challenges, as well as highlighting its socio-economic achievements in recent years.

The province is striving to become an industrial, service province, an international tourism centre and one of the leading economies of North Vietnam , he added.

Chinh also expressed hopes that Quang Ninh will have cooperative ties with Myanmar ’s provinces.

For his part, Khin Aung Myint said Quang Ninh has advantages of geographical location and political stability. He suggested that the province focus on developing sea and islands, mineral resources and aviation sector.-VNA
