National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung visited the Lao National Assembly on July 4 and delivered a speech at the plenary session.

Hung said it is rare in the world to find two neighbouring nations that are so close to each other and have supported each other so much during their revolution for national liberation such as Vietnam and Laos . The two countries have also chosen a similar path for development.

The Vietnamese legislative chief underlined that the Vietnam-Laos relationship has been fostered by Presidents Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane, Suphanouvong and many generations of leaders and people of both countries.

The relationship has taken a glorious historic path and is one of the decisive factors for the successes in each country. It has become invaluable treasure for both nations that need to be preserved and handed over to future generations, said Hung.

On the development of the cooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao NAs, Chairman Hung said that the two legislative bodies signed a new cooperation agreement during his current official visit to Laos .

The two NAs will continue to work closely together to effectively implement high-level agreements between the two Parties and States, as well as the outcomes of visits made by leaders of both countries.

NA Chairman Hung stressed that in the new development period, the special relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is not only essential to the development of each country but also to satisfy both peoples’ desires.

On behalf of Laos’ NA, Lao NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotu affirmed that the official visit to Laos by Vietnam’s high-ranking delegation and the signing of the two NA’s cooperation agreement underline the determination of both NAs’ leaders to lift the friendly cooperative relationship between the two NAs to a new level.

Earlier the same day, NA Chairman Hung visited and talked with the government and Party’s Committee of the capital city of Vientiane. -VNA
