Many Lao newspapers on July 3 highlighted the importance of the visit by Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and praised the Vietnam-Laos special relationship.

The Pasason Newspaper, the official mouthpiece of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) published an editorial spotlighting Hung’s biography and welcoming his visit, as the Lao people are celebrating the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year of 2012.

The article says the visit, which takes place from July 3-5, will strengthen the traditional relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation that exist between both countries, which have been developed stably in the interests of both peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

The article describes Vietnam and Laos as brothers that enjoy a special relationship, initiated by late President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihan and developed by later generations of leaders. It has become an invaluable asset for both countries and ties have been boosted in all fields, producing significant results.

The visits by Party, government and national assembly leaders from both countries as well as exchanges between the two countries have brought them closer together, further developing their special relationship, stated the article.

The Party and people of Laos highly appreciate the effective support that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam have given the country over the years, the article said, adding that Hung’s visit will deepen relations even further.

Also on July 3, other daily newspapers, such as “New Vientiane” also published various articles featuring Vietnam’s economic achievements as well as Vietnam and Laos’ special friendship.-VNA
