The two-day national conference discussing the implementation of the Politburo conclusion on renovating personnel work closed in Ho Chi Minh City on August 21.

As many as 154 presentations were delivered at the conference, exploring what to be done immediately in the task of building the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) under the spirit of Conclusion No. 24 of the Politburo and the Resolution of the 4 th meeting of the 11 th CPV Central Committee.

In his closing speech, To Huy Rua, Party Politburo member and Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation stressed that personnel work plays a key role in Party building.

He also laid stress on the adoption of regulations on competence and responsibility of offices’ top leaders in personnel assessment, as well as in other elements of personnel work.

An effective, thorough mechanism for monitoring personnel placement, assessment and management must be created to remove abuse of personal power, which reduces the leadership role of collectives, Rua said.

He also emphasised the need to promote the role of supervision of cadres, Party members and people through annually collecting votes of confidence in people holding leadership and management posts.-VNA
