An office to promote trade and investment between Vietnam and Italy
is due to open in the Italian region of Tuscany.
Vietnam’s Ambassador to Italy, Nguyen Hoang Long and Stefano
Giovannelli, the General Director of Tuscany’s Economic Promotion’s
Agency (TEPA), signed a memorandum of understanding on setting up the
office on August 1.
Vietnamese and Italian
businesses who want to find out about business opportunities and
policies in each other's countries will now have access to advice from
the office.
The office is scheduled to open next month with a Vietnamese manager.
On speaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Long underlined the
friendship and sound relationship that Tuscany and Vietnam have
formed over the years, saying that he hopes with the support of local
government and the business communities of both countries, the office
will become a catalyst for bilateral economic cooperation.
A ‘Vietnam Week,’ featuring Vietnamese culture, arts and music will
also be held in Tuscany next February. This is just one of the many
events being held during the ‘Vietnam Year’ in Italy campaign, which
is being organised next year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of
diplomatic ties between the two countries.
At the
ceremony, the President of Tuscany, Enrico Rossi, said that he wanted
the relationship between the region and Vietnam to develop
comprehensively in the future. He also expressed his support for
‘Vietnam Week’ in the region.-VNA
