Nicaraguan FM welcomed in Hanoi

President Truong Tan Sang received visiting Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Samuel Santos Lopez in Hanoi on Nov. 25.

The State leader congratulated the Nicaraguan government and people on their recent socio-economic achievements, which help increase the country’s position in the international arena.

He thanked Nicaragua for its support for Vietnam during the struggle for national independence in the past.

President Sang suggested that the two sides strengthen the exchange of business missions to seek mutual investment opportunities. He affirmed willingness to help Nicaragua in fields of Vietnam ’s strength such as agriculture and telecoms.

Minister Samuel Santos Lopez expressed his admiration at Vietnam ’s historical tradition and the great achievements recorded by the Vietnamese people during the past 25 years of modernisation.

He briefed the President on results of his talks with Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, saying the two sides agreed to boost cooperation in trade, agriculture, telecoms and infrastructure construction in Nicaragua .
The FM conveyed the Nicaraguan President’s letter to invite President Sang to visit Nicaragua , helping consolidate and raise the bilateral ties to a new height.

On the same day, the Nicaraguan minister was received by National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who affirmed that Vietnam always creates all favourable conditions for Nicaraguan businesses to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam ./.
