The northern province of Ninh Binh announced on August 15 that it has completed a project to provide free wireless internet (wifi) in five locations around the province on a trial basis, to improve public access to the internet.

Jointly carried out by the Ninh Binh Telecoms Company and VNPT Technology, the free wifi service can transfer data at a rate of 54-600 Mb a second, which is much more convenient and efficient for internet users.

The province plans to expand this kind of service to 10 locations by the end of August. After the 3 month free trial, the Ninh Binh Telecoms Company will begin to charge an access fee, which can be paid by either an SMS message, prepaid cards or credit cards.-VNA
