State President Truong Tan Sang has praised the Red River delta province of Thai Binh for remarkable achievements it has made in modernising its rural areas.

President Sang visited Thai Binh province on Feb. 4.

During a working session with provincial authorities, President Sang affirmed that the modernisation of rural areas will help further improve the living conditions of people and boost socio-economic development of the country.

He expressed his hopes that the province will speed up the process in the coming time.

While in Thai Binh, he visited Thanh Tan commune in Kien Xuong district to see how this rural area has changed from the modernisation process. Thanh Tan commune is expected to set a good example for other localities in the country to follow.

The same day, President Sang offered incense to Tran Kings at their Temple in Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district.

In 2011, Thai Binh obtained comprehensive achievements in many fields, including an economic growth of 10 percent and per-capita income of 20.7 million VND (about 1,000 USD) a year.

Thai Binh is one of localities to take the lead in efforts to raise quality of education. Infrastructure for schools and hospitals in the province have been ceaselessly improved./.
