Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung have met with President of the Dutch
House of Representatives Gerdi Verbeet and Vice President of the Senate
Kim Putters during his current official visit to the European country.
At the meetings, PM Dung affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance
to promoting the friendship and cooperation with the Netherlands in
all fields, particularly response to climate change, water resource
management, agriculture, sea port cooperation and oil and gas.
He stressed the positive developments in bilateral cooperation in
climate change response and water resource management, adding he hoped
the Dutch Parliament will continue its active support to programmes on
cooperation with Vietnam in this field, as well as cooperation
activities in economics, trade, investment, health care, culture and
education between the two countries.
The PM said a
strong, effective and in-depth cooperation between the parliaments of
the two countries will help promote bilateral friendship and
multi-faceted cooperation in the coming time.
President of the House of Representatives Gerdi Verbeet described PM
Dung’s official visit to the Netherlands a, helping promote the
cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands .
The Netherlands is ready to help Vietnam in education,
healthcare and coping with climate change, particularly in implementing
the strategic partnership on climate change and water management, said
the Dutch parliamentary leader.
At a reception given
to Amsterdam Mayor Eberhard Van de Laan, PM Dung thanked the city’s
people for their valuable support and friendly feelings to Vietnamese
people, which is represented by the Hanoi-Amsterdam Senior High
School in Hanoi .
He told the mayor that a number
of Dutch companies such as Phillips, Heineken, and AkzoNobel have
become familiar brand names in Vietnam .
The PM
affirmed that the Vietnamese Government encourages the two countries’
localities to promote economics, trade and investment cooperation.
Mayor Van de Laan said Amsterdam always wants to expand all-round cooperation with Vietnam ’s localities.
He said he hoped the Vietnamese Government will create favourable
conditions for Amsterdam businesses to invest in Vietnam in the
fields of finance, banking, oil and gas and healthcare./.
