Prime Minister meets Hai Phong voters

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with voters in the northern port city of Hai Phong to report on results of the second session of the 13th National Assembly.

The voters voiced their approval of socio-economic solutions for the coming years set by the NA, and recommended the NA strengthen supervision of the implementation of socio-economic development projects and programmes at the grassroots level, particularly those relating to planning, environmental protection, human resources, administrative reform and social welfare.

They urged the Government to speed up the implementation of key infrastructure projects in Hai Phong such as the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway, Lach Huyen port, Tien Lang airport, and the in construction of new-styled rural areas in suburban districts.

In reply, PM Dung affirmed the Party and the State’s attention to education and training, in particular the improvement of tertiary education quality and vocational training as well as the on-going reform at secondary, primary and kindergarten levels.

He said Hai Phong should focus on accelerating site clearance for infrastructure projects to be implemented on schedule and improving the city’s planning work.

Earlier, PM Dung attended and delivered a speech at the third session of the Hai Phong municipal People’s Council.

Also the same day, he visited the Hong Ha shipyard./.
