Vietnamese who won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia early this month received 5 million VND (220 USD) each from sponsors in a ceremony on Nov. 29.

The Lienviet-Post Bank handed over a total of 1 billion VND (45,000 USD) to all medal winners, including silver and bronze.

The squad of over 600 athletes won 96 gold, 92 silver and 100 bronze medals to rank third at the Games which ran from November 11-22.

Athletes will be honoured in an award ceremony next month by the National Sport Administration, at which each gold winner will receive 2,000 USD, silver 1,200 USD and bronze 1,000 USD./.
