Tropical storm Mindulle, the third to hit Vietnam so far this year, has claimed the lives of ten people, left one missing and injured 64 others.

The figures were announced by the Flood and Storm Prevention and Control Steering Committee during its meeting in Hanoi on August 26 to discuss measures to deal with the consequences of the storm.

As Mindulle smashed into Vietnam ’s central region, Nghe An province was the hardest hit, with six people killed and economic damage of around 600 billion VND.

All affected localities are urgently repairing the damage and supporting the families of the dead and injured to help them get back to normal.

They are keeping a close eye on the water level of rivers in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces to see whether or not they need to take actions to protect local people from unexpected floods../.
