Ukrainian Communist Party leader visits Vietnam

The Communist Party of Ukraine has highly valued Vietnam’s renewal process and its great achievements recorded under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

First Secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine P. Simonenko made this statement at a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 13 with Le Hoang Quang, Vice Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee.

The Communist Party of Ukraine will study the application of Vietnam ’s experience and vivid realities, including valuable CPV lessons in terms of politics and socio-economic development, and include them in its action platform, Simonenko said.

His current visit to Vietnam aims to learn about the realities of Vietnam , he said, adding that he witnessed strong development and renewal achievements, as well as experience in construction and development of Vietnam and HCM City and other localities in particular.

Simonenko said he believed Vietnam will see further development with its sound policies under CPV leadership.

The First Secretary said the two Communist Parties face similar issues and have been revising their operations to meet the demands of new conditions and situations. Therefore, the Communist Party of Ukraine wishes the two Parties to share more experience.

Vice Secretary Quan highlighted traditional friendship and cooperation in many areas between the two parties and the two countries, affirming the need to strengthen and build each strong party and continue to promote tradition and boost friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and peoples.

Earlier, Simonenko was received by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi on Oct. 10, who described his current visit to Vietnam as a strong manifestation of the traditional friendship and all-round cooperation between the two countries.

Simonenko was also received by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and held talks with Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of its Commission for External Relations.

During his visit to Vietnam, Simonenko is scheduled to visit several economic establishments and work with the Party Committees of Quang Ninh, Binh Duong provinces and Ho Chi Minh City./.
