First Secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) P. Simonenko and his high-ranking delegation on Oct. 14 visited Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong.

Simonenko was received by former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Binh Duong provincial Party Committee Mai The Trung and other provincial leaders.

At the meeting, Trung briefed his guest on Binh Duong’s socio-economic development since its reestablishment in 1997.

The province has enjoyed a high growth rate with GDP increasing two times faster than the country’s average level and people’s living standards had improved, he said.

The province’s political system was consolidated, especially in building and strengthening Party and authorities, Trung added.

Simonenko said that on his current visit he aims to learn about the situation in Vietnam and the CPU will study the application of Vietnam’s experiences, including valuable lessons of the Communist Party of Vietnam in terms of politics and socio-economic development.

The two sides also discussed Party operations in non-state businesses, including foreign-invested ones, and a number of relevant fields.

On the occasion, the Ukrainian delegation made a fact-finding tour of My Phuoc Industrial Park and Binh Duong New City./.
