A delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, headed by President Huynh Dam, is on a friendship visit to Cambodia at the invitation of the Solidarity Front for Development of the Cambodian Motherland.

On Nov. 29 and 30, the delegation was received separately by Cambodian National Assembly President Heng Samrin, President of the Cambodian People’s Party and Senate President Chea Sim and Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The Cambodian leaders stressed that the visit will help boost friendship and cooperation between the two mass organisations and contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.

They expressed their gratitude for great sacrifice by Vietnamese people and volunteer soldiers to help Cambodia escape from genocide and expressed thanks for contributions from the Vietnamese Government and people in the process of seeking peace, national harmony and development for Cambodia.

They praised contributions by the Vietnam Fatherland Front to maintaining the traditional friendship and solidarity between the two countries for the benefit of the two people and for peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.

The Vietnamese delegation plans to pay a courtesy visit to Great Supreme Patriarch Tepvong, King Norodom Sihamoni and attend the meeting of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Front Presidents and the celebration of the 33th anniversary of the Solidarity Front for Development of the Cambodian Motherland.

On this occasion, the delegation handed over 300 million VND (14,200 USD) to help Cambodian flood victims./.
