The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will coordinate with the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association to establish the Vietnam-Czech Business Association, to strengthen friendship and economic cooperation between the two countries.

VCCI Vice Chairman Doan Duy Khuong made the statement at a meeting between Vietnamese and Czech businesses in Hanoi on Nov. 23.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Miloslav Zeman said that bilateral economic cooperation remains modest and has yet to match the two countries’ potential and traditional relations.

Zeman pledged to create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to survey market and seek cooperative opportunities in the Czech Republic, especially in the Pilsen region.

Vietnam has exported garment products, wooden furniture and construction materials to the Czech Republic and mainly imported beer and industrial machinery in a limited quantity from the European country.

At the event, the two countries’ businesses operating in the fields of construction materials, industrial machinery, transport, foodstuff and culture exchanged market information to seek partnership for cooperation and development./.
