The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will coordinate with
the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association to establish the Vietnam-Czech
Business Association, to strengthen friendship and economic cooperation
between the two countries.
VCCI Vice Chairman Doan
Duy Khuong made the statement at a meeting between Vietnamese and Czech
businesses in Hanoi on Nov. 23.
Speaking at the
event, Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Miloslav Zeman said
that bilateral economic cooperation remains modest and has yet to match
the two countries’ potential and traditional relations.
Zeman pledged to create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to survey
market and seek cooperative opportunities in the Czech Republic,
especially in the Pilsen region.
Vietnam has
exported garment products, wooden furniture and construction materials
to the Czech Republic and mainly imported beer and industrial machinery
in a limited quantity from the European country.
At
the event, the two countries’ businesses operating in the fields of
construction materials, industrial machinery, transport, foodstuff and
culture exchanged market information to seek partnership for cooperation
and development./.
