Vatican’s envoy concludes visit to Vietnam

Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, the non-resident representative of the Holy See paid his ninth visit to Vietnam from July 2-19.

During his trip, Archbishop Girelli visited 12 southern cities and provinces and called on leaders of a number of localities.

He also met and attended the masses with priests and parishioners at the four dioceses of Da Lat, My Tho, Vinh Long and Can Tho. He was warmly welcomed by local authorities and Catholic dignitaries and parishioners where he visited.

The Archbishop delivered speeches and provided positive guidance to Catholic dignitaries and parishioners in order to boost Vatican-Vietnamese relations.
He also wished them to live a good life, become good Catholic followers and citizens at the same time.

The visits helped him understand more about the Vietnamese Catholic Church and the country’s culture, land and people.-VNA
