Vietnam, Cambodia agree on cultural exchange

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan underlined the need for Vietnam and Cambodia to pay more attention to cultural exchanges between border provinces, at a meeting with Cambodian Minister of Culture and Arts Him Chhem, in Hanoi , on Nov. 28.

Deputy PM Nhan spoke highly of Him Chhem’s visit, which he said contributes to updating each country’s situation and boosts exchanges and cooperation in culture and arts between the two countries, as well as cultural cooperation between Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia .

The Deputy PM called on the two sides to closely cooperate in aviation and telecommunications, along with economic and trade ties.

For his part, Minister Him Chhem informed his host of the outcomes of the cooperation in culture and arts between the two countries.

During its stay in Vietnam , the Cambodian delegation held a working session with the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during which the two sides agreed to step up their cultural and artistic cooperation, especially between border localities, Him Chhem said.

The minister also stressed the need for the two sides to enhance the exchange of artistic troupes and experience. He said there will be 30 Cambodian artists coming to perform in Vietnam in the near future./.
