Mexico and Vietnam should share experience in socio-economic development
considering their similarities, said Felix Castellanos, new President
of the Mexican Institute for Friendship and Cooperation with Vietnam
(IACMV).
Speaking at his installation in
Mexico City , Felix Castellanos emphasised the need to promote the
nation of Vietnam to the Mexicans, particularly the Southeast Asian
nation’s experiences in national defence and socio-economic development.
He vowed to strengthen coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in
Mexico with that objective in mind.
In addition
to supporting Vietnam ’s national construction and defence, Felix
Castellanos stressed his determination to expand bilateral cooperation
in acupuncture and agriculture, especially rubber and tea growing.
He also hoped to accelerate the exchange of expertise and experience
in the fields of economics, trade, science and technology and tourism as
well as strike up a friendship between Mexico ’s Acapulco city and
Ha Long city of Vietnam .
Vietnamese Ambassador
to Mexico Le Thanh Tung affirmed continued support for the IACMV’s
working programme, which he said helped to raise mutual understanding
between the two nations and make bilateral cooperation more effective.-VNA
