A delegation from the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) led by Deputy Chief State Auditor Cao Tan Khong is on a working visit to Thailand from Sept. 21-25 to strengthen bilateral ties.

Khong held a working session with Deputy Head of the Office of the Auditor General of Thailand (OAG) Pisit Leelavachirropas on September 22, sharing information and experience in auditing public debts, making auditing plans, defining middle and long-term auditing targets and discussing opportunities for future cooperation.

The two sides proposed boosting cooperation through the exchange of delegations, sending officials and experts to seminars and discussions held by each side, and actively supporting each other in the framework of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) and the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institution (ASEAN SAI).

On September 23, the SAV delegation had a working session with Thailand ’s Audit Region 8 in Chiang Mai.

After the Thailand visit, the Vietnamese auditors will pay a working visit to Myanmar from September 26-29.

Since it joined ASOSAI in 1997, the SAV has actively participated in the organisation’s activities, including the successful organisation of the 42 nd session of the ASOSAI Governing Board in August, 2010. At present, the SAV is a member of the ASOSAI Governing Board in the 2009-2012 period.

The SAV is one of the four founders of ASEAN SAI, which is expected to be established at a meeting on the Indonesian island of Bali this November./.
