Vietnam retains third place at SEA Games

Vietnam maintained third place behind Indonesia and Thailand in the medal tally of the 26 th Southeast Asian Games on Nov. 14, with 22 gold, 19 silver and 27 bronze medals.

The new gold medals were achieved in shooting, fencing, wrestling, shooting and gymnastics.

Hoang Xuan Vinh claimed victory in the men’s 10m air pistol category with 675.3 points.

Nguyen Thi Len beat her Indonesian competitor with the score of 15/9 to bring home the second gold medal in fencing. Nguyen Le Dung also won a fencing gold medal on Nov. 13.

Meanwhile Khong Van Khoa won 5-0 over a Philippines wrestler in the 74 kg category.

The 21 st gold medal was recorded by Nguyen Binh Dinh, Nguyen Van Cuong, Phan Ngoc Toi and Huynh Khac Nguyen, who recorded 279 points in the men’s Vovinam martial arts competition.

Phan Thi Ha Thanh won the 22 nd gold medal for the Vietnamese team in gymnastics./.
