Vietnam supports Palestine’s efforts to become a United Nations (UN) member, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi.

Nghi made the remark in Hanoi on September 20 while answering reporters’ questions on Vietnam ’s position on Palestine ’s plan to submit its official proposal to the UN for membership to the organisation.

“Vietnam has recognised the state of Palestine since 1988 and always supports regional and international efforts towards the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state that co-exists peacefully with neighbouring Israel with their border line set up before June, 1967,” Nghi said./.
