Twenty-eight members of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) will attend the International Boston Seafood Show in the US from Mar. 14-16 to find trading partners in the US and the whole region.

The annual fair, the largest seafood trade event in North America , is the place for businesses to show their fresh frozen and packaged seafood products, as well as processing equipment.

The event attracts about 800 exhibitors every year.

According to VASEP, the show has been part of a key national trade promotion programme to help seafood exporters develop new markets and update market information relating to the US as well as North America.

Statistics of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that seafood exports to 35 major markets in 2009 brought home nearly 4.2 billion USD.

The US Department of Commerce reported that Vietnam ’s aquatic exports to the US was valued at nearly 677 million USD in 2009.

Vietnam remains one of US's 10 largest aquatic exporters in terms of value./.
