Vietnam triumphs at Asian Muay Thai tourney

The Vietnamese team came out on top at the 2012 Asian Muay Thai Championships which ended in HCM City on July 13 with 11 gold, eight silver and two bronze medals.

On the last night of the event, the host country’s fighters brought six gold medals.

Laos came second with three golds, four silvers and four bronzes, followed by Iraq with three golds.

The 2012 Asian Muay Thai Championships was organised by the Asian Muay Federation in conjunction with the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The five-day event attracted 400 officials, coaches and fighters from 15 countries and territories in the region, including China, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Mongolia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, the Philippines and Syria.-VNA
