The eighth theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) closed in Ha Long City in the northern Quang Ninh province on June 9.

Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV’s Central Committee (CPV CC) and Director of the CPV CC’s Popularisation and Education Commission, and Liu Yunshan, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat and Director of the CPC CC’s Propaganda Department, spoke highly of the workshop’s outcomes after three days of working.

They said theoretical discussions are necessary and useful for both Parties, therefore this is a substantial and effective content in cooperation between the two Parties and should continue to be held in the coming time.

The focus of the three-day event was Vietnam’s new model of economic growth and the change of methods of economic development in China.

Over four working sessions, participants heard two introductory reports presented by the two delegations’ heads, Dinh The Huynh and Liu Yunshan, and 20 other papers.

The reports affirmed the significance and importance of renewing the economic growth model and changing modes of development in the renewal process in Vietnam and the open-door reform in China.

They analysed theoretical and practical issues and experiences relating to the shift of economic growth model and industrial and agricultural restructuring. The combination of economic and socio-cultural development and environmental protection was also discussed.

The two sides also shared experiences in how to improve the party’s leadership during the process of changing the model of economic growth.

During their stay in Vietnam , the Chinese delegation visited Quang Ninh province and had a working session with the local leaders.-VNA
