The eighth theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam
(CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) closed in Ha Long City in
the northern Quang Ninh province on June 9.
Dinh The Huynh,
Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV’s Central Committee (CPV CC) and
Director of the CPV CC’s Popularisation and Education Commission, and
Liu Yunshan, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s
Secretariat and Director of the CPC CC’s Propaganda Department, spoke
highly of the workshop’s outcomes after three days of working.
They
said theoretical discussions are necessary and useful for both Parties,
therefore this is a substantial and effective content in cooperation
between the two Parties and should continue to be held in the coming
time.
The focus of the three-day event was Vietnam’s new model of
economic growth and the change of methods of economic development in
China.
Over four working sessions, participants heard two
introductory reports presented by the two delegations’ heads, Dinh The
Huynh and Liu Yunshan, and 20 other papers.
The reports affirmed
the significance and importance of renewing the economic growth model
and changing modes of development in the renewal process in Vietnam and
the open-door reform in China.
They analysed theoretical and
practical issues and experiences relating to the shift of economic
growth model and industrial and agricultural restructuring. The
combination of economic and socio-cultural development and environmental
protection was also discussed.
The two sides also shared
experiences in how to improve the party’s leadership during the process
of changing the model of economic growth.
During their stay in
Vietnam , the Chinese delegation visited Quang Ninh province and had a
working session with the local leaders.-VNA
