Vietnamese beauties shine in Da Nang

Forty best-looking women from around the country are showing off their beauty and talents at the final round of the 2012 Miss Vietnam pageant from Aug. 14-25 in the central city of Da Nang.

During the first five days of the final, the contestants took part in swimsuit and talent competitions, the contest’s organising board announced at a press briefing in Da Nang city on Aug. 20.

The candidates laid wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument and participated in many social and charitable activities.

Organised by Tien phong (Vanguard) newspaper, the pageant attracted the participation of over 1,000 contestants aged between 20-22 from all corners of the country.

The crowned Miss Vietnam will be awarded a 300 million VND cash prize, with the runner-up receiving 150 million VND and the third place collecting 100 million VND.

Sidelines awards include Miss Talent, Miss Beach, Miss Ao Dai, Best Face, Best Skin and Best Hair. Each winner will receive 30 million VND.

These awards will be announced at the final night to be held at the Tien Son Sport Palace, Da Nang city, on Aug. 25.-VNA
