A low-carbon agriculture project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), officially started in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on November 10.

Lao Cai is among 10 provinces nationwide to benefit from the 74 million USD project, under which low-carbon agricultural production technologies will be transferred to local farmers, focusing on treating waste generated from animal breeding and farming.

The project is expected to contribute to solving the environment issue in rural areas and improving living standards for local residents. It will be implemented between 2013-2018.-VNA
