Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa reiterated his country’s policy to enhance cooperative relations with Vietnam in advantageous fields during a meeting with State President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on March 29.

He spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements with its internationally recognised rice and seafood exports and wished the country would continue recording strong growth rates.

For his part, President Truong Tan Sang hailed Algeria’s role in promoting peace in Africa .

He suggested the two countries increase high-level delegation exchanges and promote bilateral trade.

The President asked Algeria to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese investors to conduct business.

He also expressed his hope that the two countries’ legislative bodies will enhance their cooperation.

The Algerian lawmaker is in Vietnam to attend the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132), held in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1.-VNA
