All the 24 crew members of the Panama-registered ship Bright Royal have been rescued and brought ashore in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai, but hundreds of tons of oil in the ship are spreading to the sea.

Local authorities further said they are now joining with the sides concerned to look for ways to salvage the ship which was stranded in Ly Son waters on October 4 while transporting 27,250 tons of clinker from Ha Tinh province’s Vung Ang port to Bangladesh.

The sailors’ health is stable and procedures have been completed for them to stay on the shore pending the salvage of their ship.-VNA
