American pianist Anne Chamberlain will perform in downtown Hanoi on August 21.

She will lead the audience through a musical journey starting with classical pieces by Mozart to tango nuevo pieces by Astor Piazzolla. She will perform with Vietnamese artists like Le Tuan Anh (violin), Ho Viet Khoa (viola and Nguyen Thanh Tu (cello).

Free tickets to the show are available at the Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street from August 15.

Chamberlain was born in New York City, graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and studied at the Juilliard School of Music.

In recent years she performed in Hanoi, coaching and accompanying singers from the Vietnam National Opera instrumentalists in Hanoi. She has also appeared with them on television, and radio.

In addition to performing, Anne also works to connect people and music.

She often shares some words about a new piece of music before performing it, to allow audiences to understand it fully.
